I'd like to preface this blog with two acknowledgements: I have little talent for writing, and yes, the titular double entendre is intentional. That this is my first written blog is a testament to my disinterest in publishing my thoughts (though I do love discussing them with others, in an interactive setting). It is also (unfortunately) good evidence that I am short on thoughts worth writing about. I suspect these traits are both due largely to my devout agnosticism.
Despite this, I've slowly come to realize my need for a blog, to attempt to create a constructive outlet for one of my greatest passions: design flaws. Of course, I considered naming my blog "Defective by Design", but that name was already taken, and not just by the excellent anti-DRM intiative. My purpose in creating this blog is to share my thoughts regarding specific design defects, in the hope they might enlighten, if not generate discussion, support, and (if I'm amazingly lucky) action leading to resolution. Or revolution. Whatever it takes. :)
I will try to keep my posts as concise as possible. Please forgive me if I allow my passion to color my remarks, or my writing to become too verbose. Finally, please don't leave without adding a comment of your own, even if it's just to say that you agree or disagree! On the Internet, an idea is only worth the number of people who show interest in it.

Crickets. And now I'm talking to myself, on my own empty blog. Awesome. This bodes well.
